Please write an essay of about 1000 words summarizing the testimony you selected. Your summary should be based on your notes from watching and listening to the testimony you chose. Focus especially on key dates, locations, and events in writing your summary; your essay should be organized according to the three primary divisions of each survivor’s narration: before World War II, during World War II, and after World War II.
Your grade on this essay will be based on the rubric for this assignment, which appears below; note that it focuses primarily on the quality of your writing and the clarity of your summary. Your essay grade is worth 5% of the final grade for the course.
You will need watch the entire testimony, noting key dates, locations, and events as you go. Pay particular attention to aspects of the speaker’s Jewish life and experience. Listen carefully as you view the testimony, and note the elements of the survivor’s story you think is most important; use the list below to help guide you to the anticipated elements of their stories. You will use your notes to write and submit a 1000 word summary of your chosen testimony by the required deadline.
