In a single, coherent essay of no more than five pages:
Describe the historical events that guide the actions of the narrators of the two books. (“MINOR DETAIL” & “MEMORY MONSTER” BOTH ATTACHED)
Citing specific events in both books, describe how the narrators interpret those events, and what actions those events spur the narrators on to.
The hold of historical memory is firmer in one of the books than the other, leading to a tragic climax. The efforts of the narrator of the other book to break the hold of historical memory propels the narrative of the second book. Explain.
During the 1980s, a group of Israeli historians calling themselves the “New Historians,” sought to overturn the standard Zionist narrative about the founding of the State of Israel, sparking a fierce backlash. Do you think it possible to escape the hold of historical memory?
I am asking for a single, coherent essay. That means you are to write an introduction, then the main body of your essay, then a conclusion. You are not to write three separate essays, and you are certainly not to number your paper and follow each number by a short answer. Please consult my “Guide to Good Writing” if you have any questions about writing. It can be found on the main page of CCLE.
5 PAGE EXACTLY PLEASE. DO NOT QUOTE BOOKS DIRECTLY. I HAVE ATTACHED BOOKS AND GUIDE FOR THIS PAPER. THANK YOU!
