mo3/ Option #1: War Creates Opportunities for Women

The American Revolution created both political and social disruptions in colonial society. It opened up new opportunities for women to challenge traditional ideas of femininity and participate in the conflict (as Revolutionaries or Loyalists).

  1. Select a short biography from the following list of individuals.
  2. For that person, analyze how the American Revolution created opportunities to challenge traditional roles for women.
  3. Overall, consider whether the American Revolution was “revolutionary” for women.

Directions:

  • Your paper should be 2-3 pages long, not including the required Title and References pages.
  • Format your paper according to APA style, following the CSU Global Writing Center (Links to an external site.).

  • Your paper should include an introduction, a body with at least three fully developed paragraphs, and a conclusion. It should contain a fully developed and supported thesis statement.
  • Include a minimum of two academic sources (journal articles, books, etc.) other than the textbook for the course.================================================================================

    mo4/ Option #1 and Option #2: Annotated Bibliography of Sources

    Create an annotated bibliography of sources for your Portfolio Project (for whichever option, 1 or 2, that you selected to complete). Review the Writing Center’s site for Annotated Bibliography (Links to an external site.) and to see an example of an Annotated Bibliography. Follow the example for potential full credit. Upload your bibliography in the Portfolio Project Milestone Week 4. Each source should be listed according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing & APA (Links to an external site.).You should have at least five sources, including at least one primary source and a scholarly journal article, to support your paper. You should fully cite all the sources (and/or images) in your draft bibliography in APA format. You may decide to strengthen the bibliography with additional primary sources, scholarly journals, and secondary sources, but the primary source and scholarly journal need to be included in your final draft.This draft is intended to be a starting point for your paper.For those completing Portfolio Project Option 1 (Essay): Include with your annotated bibliography a paragraph explaining where you found your sources, and any difficulties you continue to have with your project.For those completing Option 2 (Digital Exhibit): Include with your bibliography a paragraph explaining where you found your sources, how you have decided to present your images (website, VoiceThread, PowerPoint converted to pdf or YouTube), and any difficulties you continue to have with your project.
