This essay is assigned to assess the understanding of the readings
and documentaries. This essay is also intended to be a response paper to the readings
and documentaries.

– write an essay that relates the
documentaries to the readings by comparing and contrasting them. In order to show the
relation(s) between the readings and the documentaries, select to
contrast and compare the similarities and difference in the themes of these films, the
different cultures, the protagonists, struggles, etc.

-It should include in the essay
at least short two citations from the readings to demonstrate their connection to the
documentaries. ( give the reference for the citations)

The documentaries and readings deal with the topic of first
nations or the indigenous nations of Latin America, their conquest and their present
living conditions and struggles.

-For this essay, link the readings to the
documentaries in a compare and contrast format.

-In this essay, you need to include at
least two of the three documentaries listed below:

1) 500 nations: Episode 2 and Episode 3 2) When the Mountains Tremble
3) The Devil’s Miner

It is important to emphasize that you are not expected to narrate the stories of
the documentaries.

Compare, contrast, find patterns and
commonalities between the documentaries and readings.

The format for this essay is
the following:
1) Paper must be submitted in Word format only.
2) Paper must be three pages long.
3) Margins of 1 inch must be used on all four sides.
4) The document must be typed in single space.

5) Times New Roman font must be used throughout the document.

6) 12 point font size must be used for the body of the document.
