It is imperative to know the history, meaning, and common Quality Improvement (QI) methods. Total Quality Management, the PDSA model for improvement, Six Sigma, and Lean take substantial training. Creating QI teams and dashboards to measure change efforts provides quality and safety for patients. QI efforts can also be considered from organization-wide and societal perspectives. The human resource (HR) management component includes ensuring that employees possess QI competencies and motivation, training teams in QI methods, and modeling participatory management practices. Also, psychological safety is imperative in developing an organizational culture supportive of QI.

Imagine you are the HR Manager at a healthcare organization and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is interested in providing the HR management components into their QI efforts. Use critical thinking skills and metacognition and provide a 6-slide PowerPoint (PPT) on the HR components.
