Assignment: Current Event Relevant to Health Care IT, Part 1 Directions
Our text contains useful information on trends in health care information technology. But the text was last updated in early 2017. The objective of this activity is to share information about an event in the last 90 days that is relevant to the world of health care IT. Examples of such an event include but are not limited to:at changes were reviewed in this study regarding quality of care in nursing homes?
- A significant merger, acquisition, startup, shutdown, alliance, etc., among IT product or service providers
- Release of a new IT product or service offering (or release of new information about one under development)
- Release of a significant industry initiative, standard, regulation, or public policy (or release of new information about one under development)
- A legal ruling or litigation result
Prepare a one- to two-page recap of the event, mostly in your own words. Include the following components:
- Summary: A brief summary of the event: what happened, when, where, who
- Why Healthcare Organizations Should Care: Your analysis of the potential impact to healthcare organizations
- References: An APA style citation for each source you used, including a url; If no url is available, include a readable version of the source
