In recent years, there has been an upswing in “active shooter” scenarios involving multiple innocent victims. This has occurred at schools, shopping malls, movie theaters, and other public and semi-public locations.
For your first post, respond to the following questions:
• Research several active shooter scenarios in the literature. Post two or three specific incidents and describe whether you notice any commonalities. What lessons were learned from the emergency response operations?
• As part of your disaster planning for your facility, what sort of proactive readiness can a hospital do to plan for an active shooter in your facility?
• Respond to at least two classmates’ posts.
