Harvard School of Business Share Price and Market Value of Equity Discussion Paper

Need help with my Accounting question – I’m studying for my class.

I need a full explanation of how the total debt, share price, Market Value of Equity, and Enterprise Value were calculated for these two companies. I need to know exactly where on the balance sheet/income statement these numbers were taken from and exactly how they were used to arrive at the stated answers. For instance, I understand that Total Debt/ Net Debt is short term debt + long term debt – cash/ cash equivalents, however, I don’t understand which items on the balance sheet were used in this calculation. Therefore, a complete answer requires: (1) the formula used to arrive at the stated figure, and (2) identification of each line item from the balance sheet/ income statement used in the formula.

Total Debt: 21.18 B

Share Price: $28.13
