Cultural differences can significantly impact the course of a negotiation, especially when we do not anticipate or understand the differences. Whenever possible it is critical that you take the time to learn as much as you can about any cultural differences that might impact your negotiation. This is of course particularly relevant (and easy to anticipate) when you are negotiating in a different part of the world that you are less familiar with.
