I’m working on a English question and need guidance to help me study.
About Project 2
Learning Outcomes:
in this project, you will learn and apply:
- An understanding of how technical definitions and descriptions answer different questions, and how the answers to these questions solve problems for specific audiences.
- Why technical definitions and descriptions are embedded within other workplace documents.
- The importance of visuals to support the narrative in technical descriptions.
- Ways to extend a technical definition.
- How to choose a logical pattern for a technical description.
Overview
A valuable writing skill you will often draw upon in workplace writing is the ability to write technical definitions and descriptions for a variety of contexts.
For this project, you will have two deliverables: 1) a written piece of technical documentation (either a technical definition or a technical description) and 2) a narrated Slidecast. Please review the Project 2: Slideshares to Watch for comprehensive instructions on your deliverables.
- Your audience will have a low-level of technical expertise, and you will choose this audience. Your choice will be based on a need you identify that this audience has.
- Next, you will decide if that need can best be met by composing either an extended technical definition of a term (option 1) or a technical description of a mechanism; process; animal, plant, insect; geographical feature/place (option 2).
- Finally, you will create your documentation and slidecast.

You must apply the concepts in this reading to your documentation!
Step 4: Read the Project 2: How to Create the Slidecast in the Project 2: Lecture Slides. It goes over how to create your Slidecast, which is like your podcast from Project 1 but with an added visual piece.
