Grand Canyon University Differentiating Methods of Instruction Template

As an educator, you will be required to differentiate your instruction to support all student learning. A key component to support student learning is the incorporation of current technological tools/resources that support differentiation. By carefully selecting these resources, a lesson not only meets the needs of struggling students, but also provides all students with the real-life technology they may encounter in their future professional practice.

With the field experience classroom grade level and subject area in mind, identify at least three appropriately aligned/measurable performance objectives/content standards to be addressed in the lesson.

Complete all components of the “COE Lesson Plan Template.” In the Resources, Materials, Equipment, and Technology section, include links to at least two technological tools or resources for differentiation that promote curiosity, critical thinking, or creativity.

Additionally, in a 250-500 word rationale, discuss the following:

  • How the differentiated activities selected will address the students’ strengths and needs of the population described in the lesson plan.
  • How the differentiated assessment strategies selected will address the students’ strengths and needs of the population described in the lesson plan.
  • The importance of integrating technological tools for differentiation to promote curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking, and why you believe the tools you chose will be effective.
