Grand Canyon University COVID 19 Mental Health Organization Discussion Response

please respond to the following discussion post as a peer commenting on the response.” I currently work for a mental health organization that provides prevention and recovery-oriented mental health and substance use services to our clients. The most recent government policy that directly affected my work environment was the COVID-19 mask mandate and other government policies related to COVID-19 restrictions. In the early stages of COIVD-19, my work required that all workers, besides the groups that were considered essential workers, to begin working from home in order to prevent further spreading/contamination of the virus. We were finally allowed to go back into the office full time this past June, but we had to continue to practice social distancing and to wear a mask once we entered the building. However, it is still strongly enforced that if you do not need to come into the office on some days that working from home is the best option.

Vaccination requirements have also affected my workplace. The Safer Federal Workforce Task Force (Task Force), established by Executive Order 13991 of January 20, 2021 (Protecting the Federal Workforce and Requiring Mask-Wearing), has issued important guidance to protect the Federal workforce and individuals interacting with the Federal workforce. Agencies have also taken important actions, including in some cases requiring COVID-19 vaccination for members of their workforce (The White House, 2021). Because President Biden made the executive order on requiring Coronavirus vaccinations for all federal employees, there has been concern from some employees about possibly losing their jobs because they are not wanting to get vaccinated.
