During our time together you will create two 5 minute class presentations. Pick a favorite piece of music of yours for this presentation. The goal is to introduce your classmates to music that they may not be aware of so they too can enjoy it!
For this assignment you will create a 5 minute video and embed it into this discussion using Canvas Studio. You can find instructions here:

To create the video and edit in the music I recommend iMovie for Mac/iPad/iPhone users. If you use Windows or Android here is a website of iMovie alternatives. (Links to an external site.) Another option is to open Zoom and record yourself and when it is time to play the song or piece of music use screen sharing with the box for “share computer sound” checked.
You video must include the following:
- Introduce yourself (10 sec)
- Introduce your piece (1 min)
- a. Tell us title, performer and/or composer
- b. Give us information that will be helpful in relating to the piece, i.e; time period, genre, style, background/story behind piece, something interesting and unique that gets us interested in the piece
- Play the piece (2-3 min)
- Tell us why you like the piece (1 min)
- What does it mean to you?
- What does it express?
- How does it make you feel to listen to it?d. Does it have particular significance to your life?
