find a popular article about a recent study or finding in your discipline/major. Then find the original study/research that the popular article is based on. Make sure you’re looking at the original document/publication of both the popular source and the scholarly source about which it was written. (See Lecture 3 for more details). Provide links to both sources in your submission and answer the following questions.

- What are the linguistic differences between the scholarly and popular source? (Give examples).
- Which elements of the rhetorical context may be causing linguistic differences between the two texts?
- How are references treated in the scholarly and popular source? What are the differences?
- Which elements of the rhetorical context may be causing differences in how references are treated in the two texts?
