The purpose of the written paper is for you to reflect on your course text and module material when answering the question(s) to illustrate your knowledge of what you have reviewed in this course and your understanding of the material.
Upon completion of your written paper, you should be able to:
- Describe how values, behaviors, cultural variation and cultural change can enhance or impede working with delivering services to a diverse aging population globally. (SLO#3)
- Identify facts about culture, ethnicity and aging when observing and communicating with older adults. (SLO#6)
Instructions:
With what you have reviewed in this course and your understanding of class material:
Choose one ethnic older adult population over the age of 70 to examine (different from your own ethnic background- and reviewed in class material). In your written paper – Identify and discuss the major factors that influence how they understand health concepts; how they make decisions related to their health and their preference of health care system(s) to participate or not to participate in.
Your written paper is to include:
Specific “in paper” citations of your text readings (from your class text: Global Aging) and module learning materials to illustrate your knowledge of what you have reviewed in this course and your understanding of the material. Do not cite sources that are not covered in your text or module materials.
Minimum two text (page #, if e-book than reference chapter and bold subtitle found under) and two module (module # and title of link) sources cited in paper.
The paper you submit is to be at least 1000 words or more. APA or MLA writing style required (do not include abstract, endnotes, appendix, graphs or pictures). Review the rubric to guide you on the requirements for this assignment and how it will be graded.
