1) Analyze an apocalyptical novel or movie not covered in this course, the main protagonist of which is a nonhuman, and explain how a nonhuman perspective influences the representation of the end of humanity/ human civilization. (Cannot be any of the Planet of the Apes movies)

Format:

All essays are to be double-spaced, one-inch margins, Times New Roman, 12 pt.

All essays must have a covering page identifying paper title, student name, course title.

All essays should include a reference section of the works cited.

Paper pages must be numbered.

Minimum length – 10 pages

References according to MLA preferred.

Specific paper components:

  • Introduction: Question/issue articulated and clearly described
  • Context of the creation of the work articulated
  • Reception discussed: Analysis of a movie or book should include at least two reviews or academic articles; the reviewers’ viewpoints are critically analyzed.
  • The textual analysis presented (the argument is supported by quotations, or if the film, by descriptions of the relevant episodes)
  • Conclusion
