Informatics are essential in patient-centered care and population/community engagement. One way of engaging patients and the community is through the use of infographics. An infographic is a visual communication of information. These are colorful, concise, communication tools that can overcome language and educational barriers.
Your assignment this week is to create an infographic to convey some type of health related information to a population. The creation must be original. I will use Turnitin and other sources to help in determining originality.
The subject is your choice. It might be COVID, hypertension, exercise impact on mental health, importance of fruits and vegetables in the diet, how to use a patient portal, or importance of sunscreen usage. The topics are endless.
You can create infographics in word, PowerPoint, or other specific software. I do caution you if you download software to create your infographic – ensure it is a safe site. As we all know, some sites may have viruses or other security threats that can infect our computers.
