Watch any music videos (e.g., YouTube, MTV, BET, CMT, or VH-1). For each video, determine who is the main actor and who is a recipient, passive observer, or decorative object, and record the gender of each. Take note of the number of dominant acts, implicit (implied) and explicit (demonstrated) aggression, aggression with sexuality, objectification, and implicit and explicit sexuality present in the video and who is engaging in such behavior. In your post, describe what you observed and answer the following:
Are there gender differences in the roles and actions portrayed? What messages are in these videos regarding women and their sexuality? What messages are there about men and masculinity? What are the possible implications of this? How does what you saw in the videos relate to other course materials?
