Hello class,
The two health professions I chose are Cardiology and Neurologist. To become a Cardiologist, you have to complete undergrad and pass the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test). Then, go on to complete four years of medical school, three years of internal medicine residency, and 2-5 years of a cardiology fellowship. Once all schooling is completed from the Medical School, you must pass the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Exam). Depending on what avenue they want to take their career as a Cardiologist; there are other medical classes that will need to be taken in order to become licensed in other areas of becoming a Cardiologist. To become a Neurologist, you have to get an undergrad to prepare you for medical school. You must then take the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test), and apply to medical school. Once you’re in med school; you will complete four years of medical curriculum. After graduating med school you will go on to complete an Internship or Neurosurgical Residency Program for 6-8 years. After completion; with your residency you will then take an oral and written exam to assess your ability to apply the knowledge, principles, and concepts you have learned in school to actual practice. “By the conclusion of them; you will have independent verification that you can practice safe and effective patient care.” ( Path to Becoming a Neurologist or Neurosurgeon).
