SELF-AWARENESS VIDEO PRESENTATION
Purpose: This course requires you to give at least one presentation to the class. We are in the 5th Week of the course, and you should now have a good understanding of who you are and how you communicate with others. This is an opportunity to share this knowledge about yourself with our class. https://open.lib.umn.edu/communication/
Directions:
1. Go back to Chapter 2.3 Perceiving and Presenting Self . Take some time and decide who your “perceived and presenting selves” are today. Design a presentation that will inform your class who you are. It is your decision how much self-disclosure you want to reveal. However, you must include a portion of both your “presenting self”, and your “perceived self”. You may also include who you were in the past, and who you want to be in the future.
Consider the following areas to “identify yourself” to us:
Physical characteristics
Ethnicity
Family relationships
Friends, work relationships
Significant relationships
Emotions, personality
Spiritual relationships
Possessions
2. Now design a video presentation around introducing your “self” to the class.
You may create this in many forms. Here are a few “possibilities” to include in your presentation. However, the majority of the presentation should be you speaking to us.
Power point
Music, film, video
Collage
Art work, objects/possessions
Photo montage
