Several times throughout the course of the semester, we have talked about the need for further research on different aspects of hate crime. For this assignment, pick one topic that we have discussed in this context, describe the research that has been conducted (drawing from lectures and the textbook), describe why there has been a lack of research in the area you chose, and describe why further research is needed in that area.
Next, design a research study for addressing the lack of research in the area you chose. Imagine that you have unlimited resources at your disposal. What sort of study would be necessary for addressing the lack of research (e.g., survey, experiment, etc.)? Who would you sample? What type of data would you collect? What would be the challenges in implementing the study? Describe the proposed research study in detail.
You should write approximately 3 to 4 pages. Assignments must be typed, double- spaced, in 12-point font with normal margins and headings (name, date, and course). Please take the time to proof-read and revise your papers; your grade will be determined by how thoughtful your paper is, but you may lose points due to spelling errors, grammatical mistakes, etc.
