I’m studying and need help with a Health & Medical question to help me learn.

We are working on the Respiratory System this week and this is the system which is most affected by the change of our physical environment, I think you will be interested to read about the ancients’ comprehensive understanding of the symbiotic relationship between our body and the particulars of its immediate environment. The Hippocratic treatise Airs, Waters, Places svg icon download Download Airs, Waters, Placesis one of the most read ancient medical texts because it contains invaluable information about the the ancients’ understanding of the environment, anthropology, ethnography, geography, and of course, endemic and epidemic diseases. We have learned involuntarily a lot about the latter in our lives for the last 19 months. What do you think modern medicine can learn from the ancients’ understanding of the profound relation between the body and its local environment, and especially the direction of the wind? (For example, if you go to St. George Island these days, the wind is blowing from the water and in 5 minutes, you will start coughing from the toxins carried by the wind and produced by the waves breaking down the red tide.) Why do you think modern medicine has lost understanding of the deep relation between us and our local environment? Is it because medicine can provide any kind of treatment to anyone anytime?
