For this discussion I reviews the Republican, Democratic, and the libertarian websites, in the least bias way I could. Let’s start with the Republican website. Can we say, clearly America and freedom-based advertisement. There are not any photos expect for the flag and to join today to keep fighting for our freedom. I currently work in advertisement, and this is very basic and nothing special about the website. They should ad at the topic some family photos or the charity or events they are putting out into the world. Next, the Democratic party website. I like there was a smiling photo of the President and Vice President. It has a very clear title wanting to bring America together. However, very bland, and boring with zero color. This website has zero excitement to it to make an outsider want to contribute. With adding more color this makes it more appealing to the eye as each color has different meaning, blue is calm. Both parties need more color and diversity to appeal to the younger generation. The third-party website I chose is the Libertarian Party website. Must I say, wow, the different and the fun that was brought into this website. Christmas and graffiti were the two images I saw first. Its very inviting and fun for someone who Is looking at joining the Libertarian Party.
The two main parties, Democratic and Republican, have been the base, the two parties ruling America. Their websites are not really showing any diversity in my opinion compared to the Libertarian that has a “civil liberties” tab. Where are the broad range of cultures in the other two parties’ websites? The two-party system has benefits, like economic and stability during election year. Also, there is a more likely to be a more close or broad range of votes. The downfall is it exiles voices from other parties from being heard, which is the point of democracy.
Third party candidates cannot be heard because they have limited access to media and other resources. For a third party to win an election they would need to receive votes from the other parties. Also, bring attention to issues that have yet to be discussed. Opinion, I do not see in my lifetime a person from outside of the two-party system winning. Simply because this has been centuries and the divisions are too great now among the American people.

These two parties have been around since the 19th century and each has different views in governing the American people. Democrats are based on a liberal ideology while Republicans are based on a conservative ideology. Let’s compare and contrast some of the things that differentiate the two parties. First, Democrats usually give people, generally women, the right to choose what they want to do with their bodies and give them the freedom to do what they think is right for themselves. Republicans work for the rights of all people but think they know what is best for all people as well. Let us say a woman wanted to get an abortion for some reason, democrats would allow her to do so because it is her body and it should be her choice to decide what she does with it, but Republicans would be against that. Speaking on the issue of crime, Democrats believe it to be a social issue that needs to be dealt with whereas Republicans think they need to be dealt with by stronger policies that would deter crime. Next is government spending, Democrats believe in taxing the rich more because the more revenue the government attains then the more money they get to put into social work. The Republicans are against that ideology as they want tax breaks for the rich.
In the United States, there are two dominating parties. Democrats and Republicans are two major dominant parties for the American economy, but I believe that is not enough for a place as big and culturally diverse as America. Both of them have their advantages and disadvantages. There are third parties but they are always overwhelmed by the two big parties. There is the Libertarian party which works for the liberty of the people while the green party works to build peace in the economy and a sustainable environment. America is too big for a two-party system and I believe it is long overdue that we see some other parties in significant positions of power.
