I have chosen Trevor Lawrence (Football) and the company Sunrun.
In today’s sport and NIL landscape athletes are able to find fame and fortune away from the sport in which they compete. As a result, it has become increasingly important for them and their stakeholders to properly build, manage, and leverage their individual brands. Therefore, the purpose of the project is to pitch an “athlete brand” to a company who is seeking an endorser for their brand. You have been hired as a marketing manager for your client (athlete). For this part of the assignment, you must create a proposal (750 word minimum) which outlines the plan for your presentation pitch (which comes later in the course). The proposal must follow proper APA formatting. The following must be included in your proposal:
1. Provide a brief overview of your client (accomplishments as an athlete, brand image, current partnerships, etc.)
2. Provide a brief overview of the company/organization (products & services that they offer, core values, brand image, etc.)
3. Describe the proposed connection and brand fit between your athlete and the company while using course concepts to support your rationale (i.e., what brand associations are you going to create/enhance/alter/reinforce between your client and the brand? What traits of the athlete are you going to link with the company? What is the narrative that you are going to create for the partnership between your client and the company/organization?)
4. Discuss potential market segments for whom this endorsement deal is meant to target (i.e., who are you trying to reach with this partnership?)
5. Provide initial descriptions of advertisements and new products (i.e., deliverables) that you might create with your athlete and the company in order to create a successful endorsement.
