The Company Security Director must report accidents or fatalities. He must investigate the physical circumstances surrounding the event. A monthly report of injuries and illnesses is required by the Occupational Safety and Health Act regulations. The Director is responsible for developing, coordinating, and administering the local safety program. He shall cooperate with, give counsel, and render assistance to all levels of management regarding safety. The Director is the liaison with local police, fire, and municipal authorities. In case of national or regional emergency, the Director shall coordinate company functions under the direction of the FBI or other authorities as necessary. He also provides the company management with the necessary information and assistance so that the management responsible for the safety of the employees and equipment can fulfill those responsibilities. Security service to the management and employees must be the first priority. Reports must be maintained accurately. The Company Security Director must also inspect the company physical facilities to insure compliance with established standards and rules of operation and to identify and potentially unsafe conditions or practices that require additional security. He maintains the security system checks and procedures for entering and exiting the buildings. The Director must be knowledgeable about security legislation and regulations and maintain an information exchange with the medical and Worker’s Compensation representatives. Those practices are the Director’s paramount responsibility.
