Final Paper
Ok, guys, this is it! You’ve made it!! Cue the marching band!!
At this point, you should just need to combine all of your past assignments into one big happy final paper! Be sure to incorporate any feedback I’ve provided throughout the process – if you lost points on missing components before, now’s your chance to earn some back. Each of the bolded titles below should be treated as section headers, and each section header should be the start of a new page. Just to review, the final needs:
Title – Something catchy. Include a properly formatted title page.
Introduction – This should be about a paragraph that introduces us to your paper and ends with your research question. You should be able to use the research question and rationale assignment to put this together quite easily. 1/2 – 1 pages, double-spaced.
Review of Literature – This is where you’ll pop in your Mini Literature Review. Use the heading Review of Literature and be sure to incorporate your 2-3 thematic subheadings. 3-5 pages, double-spaced.
Proposed Methodology – This is where you pop in your Methods Selection and Defense section. 3-5 pages, double-spaced.
Conclusion – ***NEW CONTENT*** Include a discussion of the following (roughly one paragraph per numbered point) 1) a brief summary of your question and what we already know about it, 2) a brief summary of your proposed methods and 3) what do you expect to find from this research? What holes will this research fill in the current field of knowledge? 1-2 pages, double-spaced
References – In proper ASA/APA format – this should basically just be the citations from your literature review, but if you’ve added any sources throughout the writing process make sure they are updated/included.
Once you have all the pieces assembled, you should give it one solid read through for clarity and flow. Then, you should meet up with your class buddy and exchange papers. Researchers tend to get tunnel vision when working on projects for large periods of time, and another set of eyes never hurts!
BELOW I ATTACHED A TEMPLATE OUTLINE, USE THE TEMPLATE.
