Look at the lecture notes (info about Nadar starts from slide 62 in the lecture note) and read Félix Nadar: The world’s first celebrity photographer – BBC. Nadar was one of the first celebrity photographers, producing collectible images of the stars of the day. Choose one of his photographs of a celebrity (a number are posted here – or you can use Google Image to search Nadar portrait( just make sure that the image you find was taken by him), and compare it to a photograph of a current celebrity, such as a selfie from Kim Kardashian’s Instagram feed. Attach both images to your post. Some possible similarities and differences to discuss: whether the images are posed or spontaneous, the technology used, who took the images, how were the portraits received at that time, what the images reveal or conceal about the celebrity.
