Finish reading Faust, Part One, watch the recorded video, and answer the following questions:
1. What is the function of the scenes “Walpurgis Night” and “Walpurgis Night’s Dream”? (1-2 sentences)
2. Why is Gretchen saved in the final scene? (1-2 sentences)
3. Pick one aspect of the play that you found particularly interesting or disturbing, and discuss. Your answer should demonstrate some familiarity with the play (i.e., show that you actually have read the play and thought about it). You may pick a topic covered in class, but feel free to explore your own ideas, as well. This is NOT an assignment for which you are to do outside research, and I will not give credit for answers taken from other sources. Have the courage to use your own understanding! Your answer should take the form of a paragraph, roughly 10 sentences.
