Factors Leading to Individuals Reaching their Goals & Others Falling Short Paper

Question:  Based on the pieces we read, including Dr. Carol Dweck’s “The Secret to Raising Smart Kids,” Geoffrey Colvin’s “What It Takes to Be Great,” as well as Jonnelle Davis’ “Liz Murray,” what factors often cause individuals to surmount obstacles and reach their goals whereas others end up falling short, and what are some solutions which would help more people to become successful in life?

Requirements:  Write a well-developed 4-5 page causes, effects, solutions argument addressing the question with a clear intro and thesis, body paragraphs with strong topic sentences, support points, two (2) anecdotal and/or data evidence example quotes per body paragraph from Dweck, Colvin, and Davis, with lead-in discussion and cause-effect explanation, as well as a conclusion paragraph.  Additionally, utilize MLA formatting with correct heading, title, support quote signal phrases, citations, and commentary, as well as a Works Cited.

Tips:  Be sure to plan carefully by brainstorming, outlining, writing a well-organized, strongly supported academic essay with anecdotal and data evidence quotes, editing (proofread out loud  at least 4 times and fix organization, content, MLA formatting, and sentence issues) for a strong, persuasive argument.
