In this module you have been exposed to ways that mental health issues are dealt with in a variety of countries. Specifically in M3.3 you responded to a case study involving mental health and human trafficking. In that assignment, you chose one of three professions related to the case and provided some proposed solutions from that perspective.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are a comprehensive list of tasks, procedures, and policies that are written to guide employees in performing their assigned tasks. SOPs are the “how-to” for handling issues and having sound SOPs are essential to the successful management of those issues.
INSTRUCTIONS
Refer back to the case study in M3.3. Since that point in this module, you have engaged in discussions with your peers to get a global perspective on how mental health issues are handled. With what you know now, would your proposed solutions in the case study change?
here is the link to the case study
First, read the following article: Mental health and human trafficking: Responding to survivors’ needs. (Links to an external site.)
Consider the following:
- What mental health issues are addressed in the case study?
- Were your proposed solutions written from a global perspective?
- How might the situation in the case study be handled in other countries?
- What would someone in your role in the case study need to know to deal with the situation?
ASSIGNMENT
Assume that you are in the role you chose in the case study. Modify and formalize your proposed solutions to create a Standard Operating Procedure for dealing with the mental health issues in the case study. Keep in mind that the document you create will guide everything related to how someone in that role deals with the situation so anyone who picks up the document should be able to know exactly what the procedures are.
There is not a specific format for this document but there are some examples listed in the resources below that can serve as a guide. Limit your submissions to 5-10 SOPs with 10-40 steps each.
please see attached assignment that was submitted for M3.3 to clarity.
