1-Jared Fogle, who was a spokesperson for Subway, has been all over the news and social media recently after he was arrested on child pornography charges. The investigation was actually launched by the company itself, and when his house was raided they took out his computers and other media that contained child pornography, and he’s since pleaded guilty to the charges against him (CNN.com). The case was originally picked up in July, and that very day Subway parted ways with him as their spokesperson. While they reached a plea agreement with him, there was another person involved in the case through his foundation, and this brought to light the fact that they’d been spending money that was being raised for the foundation. There was a woman, Rochelle Herman, who recorded her conversations with Jared that essentially led to his arrest and conviction.

Was Subway right to part ways with Jared? Why or why not?
2-The Rachel Dolezal scandal hitting social media. Consider this your crib sheet.
It’s an upsetting, difficult question: If somebody pretends to be something they’re not, but achieves good through those means, does it matter that they lied in the first place? For Rachel Dolezal, a Civil Rights Leader in Washington, who teaches African Studies at Eastern Washington University and is President of the Spokane chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), it does.
Because after appearing presenting herself as black since 2004, her parents have now given an interview revealing that she is white – and actually has no black heritage at all. ‘Rachel has wanted to be somebody she’s not. She’s chosen not to just be herself, but to represent herself as an African American woman or a bi-racial person and that’s simply not true,’ says her mother, Ruthanne Dolezal, in the interview with Krem 2 News. Adding that their daughter has black brothers, who they adopted, and was once married to a man of African-American descent, they claim that she began to change her appearance following her divorce, 11 years ago.
What do you think was the main cause or contributing factors that led to the scandal? Support your answer with research-based evidence.I the weak of the racial division of the nation at this time has push many unlikely characteristics into the spot light and Rachel Dolezal was one of those people and her parent were the ones to bring the question of her race to the fore front and this sparked the nation to ask the question are you in fact African American of no.
(CNN)Much has been made in recent days over what Rachel Dolezal is or is not.
Dolezal, who stepped down as head of the Spokane chapter of the NAACP, says she identifies as black. Her parents say she is white, like them.
