To demonstrate mastery of Excel, you need to complete the tasks listed below. You will need to have
your work checked by the instructor or TA during any of the labs or during the Office Hours. The TA or
instructor will ask you to demonstrate how you did the following: static & dynamic cell references,
copying formulas from cell to cell using click/drag, create a plot.
Here are the tasks you must complete:
In Column A, create a series of values for ‘radius’ from 0-20 mm using intervals of 1mm
In cell B1, enter a value of 10 mm (for height)
In Column C, use a formula to calculate the volume of a cylinder for each radius value, using the
same height (value in B1) for each. (Note: You must enter a formula that uses dynamic and
static cell references to do this. You may not simply type in ‘10’ for the height; you need to
reference cell B1. ).
Properly format your data table using appropriate Column Titles (with units) and Borders.
Create a scatter plot to show Volume as a function of Radius
Create an appropriate Title and axes labels for the plot.
