M. G. Leyland, PhD, retired from his community college psychology
instructor position and has applied for the position of Director of
Psychological Assessment at Nature’s High Institute in a rural part of
his state. The position requires expertise in personality and
neuropsychological assessment. Dr. Leyland completed training in the
Comprehensive System (Rorschach) and the Luria Nebraska
Neuropsychological Battery years ago. He has not been actively using
either for the past 25 years. In his application, he accurately states
that he was trained on both of those assessments.
Reviewing Standards on Competence and Advertising and Other Public
Statements, present arguments for and against Dr. Leyland’s compliance
with relevant standards. Be sure to include Standards 2.01, 2.02, and
5.01. In addition, focus on whether it is ethical for Dr. Leyland to
even apply for this position, and whether it would be ethical to simply
omit a discussion of his lack of current experience in assessment.
Determine if there is any way that Dr. Leyland could ethically meet the
criteria for this position. Then, explain your conclusion.
Support your assignment with at least five scholarly resources. In
