PART A “The Moral and Legal Status of Abortion”

Please respond to the following: 1. Discuss Mary Anne Warren’s distinction between being human and being a person. Do you agree that being a person is a necessary condition for having a right to life? Provide reasons and examples to support your view. 2.Take a position on the statement: “Abortion is morally wrong.” Provide reasons and examples to support your view.

PLEASE RESPOND TO CLASSMATE DISCUSSION WHETHER YOU AGREE OR NOT & A DETAILED WHY: Warren’s distinction between human and being a person is basically a fetus has the genetics and DNA of a human but is not a person because it has not been born, cannot communicate, does not have the capacity to have emotional feelings, cannot perform as a person; therefore, cannot be labeled as a person. I agree to a certain extent that a person is a necessary condition for having a right to life. An example is this would be a fetus at an early stage where it is just an embryo has no feelings; therefore, can be aborted without conditions. However, once the embryo has developed and surpassed the first few weeks where it is clearly a fetus I would say it has the same rights as a person. By week 11 of your pregnancy, the embryo has developed into a fetus and continues to develop, grow, and have feelings.

Abortion is morally wrong in my opinion. I believe there are far too many options available for women to choose where they want their child to be if they do not want to keep it. Unless the mother is in danger of losing her own life, I do not think abortion is the answer. I believe all life has the right to choose to live and all life begins at conception. It may not be convenient for the mother to bring this child into the world but there are other options beside abortion available to her.

PART b “Social Action and Fairness” Please respond to the following:
Debate It. Take a position for or against Singer’s claim that each person has a serious moral obligation to do something about world hunger. Provide reasons and examples to support your view.

Evaluate Fullinwider’s claim that a company’s record of discrimination will keep reproducing itself in spite of its good intentions not to discriminate. Provide reasons and examples to support your view.

PLEASE RESPOND TO CLASSMATE DISCUSSION WHETHER YOU AGREE OR NOT & A DETAILED WHY: Singers claims that everyone has an serious moral obligation to do something about world hunger while that may seem accurate no one should be considered to be morally judged whether they chose to support or not support the world hunger. If the world had a issue with hunger as big as it is talked about then why have these countries not tried to get the type of support that is necessary instead of letting worldwide hunger be an issue. There are many billionaires present in the world today although the world is hungry in other countries and to me that country should be responsible for making sure those that are hungry get fed because if they are not eating and people in this world are this rich and not helping there is no way you can tell me a minimum wage individual should be spending the money that they don’t have to support someone on another country when there are people in their family who need help. People cannot even hardly help themselves and then people have the audacity to tell people that it is morally wrong if they do not do something about world hunger. This world and country are focused on the wrong goals and it will forever be this way until someone makes a visible change.
