Overview
As we see in the Gospels, discipleship is somewhat sequential. The disciples of Jesus accepted who He was, then they began to follow, then He gave them responsibilities, then they came back, and He taught them more, then they entered a new stage of discipleship. Eventually Jesus left and they carried on in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Instructions
Items to include are outlined as follows:
- At least 5 pages, not including the cover page and table of contents, and must be in current Turabian format.
- Must include a bibliography with a minimum of 5 scholarly sources, which can include the course textbooks.
- Format of assignment is current Turabian.
- Specific Prompts:
- For this assignment, you will write a paper summarizing and analyzing the 5 stages and 4 spheres of discipleship.
- Identify what stage of discipleship you are currently in, giving evidence from your life and correlating biblical support.
- Also, identify what spheres you need to submit to the centrality of Christ by referring to Bonhoeffer’s steps in following Jesus.
- Conclude with at least 1 page discussing what it means to be in submission to Christ, using Scripture and other scholarly sources.
