In this assignment, you have recently been tasked by the City of Dallas to design an Urban Cityspace based on the following link (https://www.landandfarm.com/property/11800_Audelia_RD-4636635/ ) of a current, real vacant piece of land available in Dallas, TX to purchase. Your “job” is to take into consideration, all of the components about Urban Ecology, cityscapes, flora and fauna within cities, etc. and design this space as a new Urban Cityscape available to the public for use(this could be an actual building, a park, an extension of the neighborhood, etc). You will write up a project proposal/paper which will include the following:
- why you think your space is needed
- what the space will entail, (consider here what the space already has and how you will work with that in your design. Is there floodplane? Is there elevation? Is there residential? Is there commercial? A highway?… how will these components affect your design? Could any of these current things help your design? Make your life easy here!)
- a minimum of 3 native plant species you plan to utilize (with research to support why you chose these plants and what they do for this space.)
- A minimum of 3 native animal species you expect to live or be a part of your space (with research to support why you believe these animals will come/be beneficial)
