This module is all about your first essay! My goal is to create essays that link to future job/education goals. Thus, your first essay is to think about how technology has or will impact the career or education field you plan to go into.
Before you look at the essay, though, read this magazine article: OMG! We’ve Been Here B4.pdf. It explains how technology has impacted human communication starting when people were OUTRAGED by the telephone and thought it would end up being used for the “exchange of twaddle between foolish women”. This theme of technology impacting something (in this case communication) might give you ideas for your paper.

2. Submit a properly formatted and edited “Tech &…” essay
Assignment Overview
Technology is advancing every day and impacting the world in both positive and negative ways. Pick one area technology has impacted and further explore it. Your overall analysis can be positive or negative, but the tone should be clear through your writing. Possible topics include:
- Technology and Dating
- Technology and Nursing
- Technology and the Security
- Technology and Social Communication
These are very broad topics, so you might need to narrow the topic down even further.
You must use citations and include a Works Cited page with at least 2 sources from the library databases. This is a research paper, so do not use “I”.
The key categories for grading are: thesis/evidence, organization, MLA formatting, and grammar. You must also have a properly formatted Works Cited with at least 2 sources from the library databases. Since this is a research paper, you may not use “I”.
