This assignment requires you to firstly select an organisation to analyse. In the assignment, you are required to do the following:
Q1. Critically analyse the business model adopted by the organisation? A detailed discussion is expected on the organisation.
Q2. What key aspects of the business model have been attributed to this organisation’s success? Provide ample support/evidence for your answers and claims. In your answer, you must also comment on the competitive dimensions realised by this organisation and its importance for the organisation.
Q3. Choose a specific topic that is covered in this subject (e.g. product design, quality management, facility location, layout design, forecasting, inventory management, etc.). Describe the state of current practice relating to this issue.
Q4. Using suitable methods (preferably quantitative) covered in the subject, conduct analysis to show how the organisation is currently performing. (If you do not have access to real data, you should use estimates.)
Q5. Using similar suitable methods (preferably quantitative), conduct analyses to show that a better solution is possible. (use estimates if real data is not available.) Provide your recommendations on the practicality of implementing the better solution.
Requirement:
Word limits – The total length of the report is a maximum of 3,000 words (excluding figures, tables, references, and appendices). The bulk of your words are to be utilised in your main write-up. As a guide, 100-200 words for introduction, 50 words for methodology and 50-100 for conclusion with the remaining being dedicated to answering the questions.
