TARGET DATE: Monday, October 4th, by 11:59 PM
Your final and third draft will be submitted for a grade and will receive professor feedback. You will then have an opportunity to revise your paper again for a higher grade if you choose. This final draft is an opportunity to complete, refine, and polish your rough draft, as you consider the comments you received in the writing workshop conducted in class.
In addition to the requirements for a literary analysis listed in the introduction of this assignment sheet, your final draft will be assessed on the following parameters:
- Includes an identifiable, original, and specific thesis/argument, either in the introduction or conclusion
- Supports thesis throughout the essay with specific evidence (paraphrases/quotes) from the story
- Effectively integrates and analyzes evidence (i.e., quote/paraphrase sandwich)
- Includes well developed and organized paragraphs with clear transitions between ideas
- Does not have glaring grammar and mechanics errors that impede the meaning, clarity, and persuasiveness of the author’s thesis/argument
- Is correctly formatted in MLA with in-text citations and a Works Cited page
We will also draft a rubric in class together that I will use to grade the final draft of your literary analysis.
Again, while we don’t enforce strict page requirements in this course, a suggested length for a final draft of this assignment is 3-4 pages, double-spaced (not including the Works Cited page).
