Paragraph: The Magic Wand

Imagine that you have found a magic wand that allows you to make any TWO changes you want. How would you change yourself, your job, or any other part of your life? Name each change and then explain why you would make these changes and what impact they would have on your life.

  1. Follow the guidelines below to develop this 150-200 word paragraph:
    • Who are you? Start by stating your name and briefly describing you you are.
    • State the first change you would like to make: Be specific. Then explain why you would like to make this change and what impact it would have on your life.
    • State the second change: Use an effective transition to move to the next idea–the change you would like to make, and explain why you would make this change and how it would impact your life.
  2. Be creative but specific in your ideas and use accurate sentence mechanics to write a well-thought-out and well-developed paragraph.
  3. Post your paragraph in the class Discussion.

NOTE 1: You can either type directly in the Discussion or you can cut and paste from a word processing document.
NOTE 3: Please do NOT post your introduction paragraph as an attachment.
(Please do not use attachments for any discussion assignments in this course.)

  4. (Optional) Attach a picture of yourself or a picture of something that you think is a reflection of you.
NOTE: If you need help attaching a picture, view the Canvas Student Resources page in the Welcome module.

Tip: This is your first assignment using the class Discussion. Some students find it helpful to log into the course in two different web browser windows at the same time. This allows you to refer back to the assignment directions in one window as you type your message into the forum in the other window.

Grading

This is a required assignment. It will be graded, and it is worth 10 points towards the course grade. Your responses to peers will also be evaluated here and those posts are also worth 15 points for a total of 25 points for this Discussion.
