Structure of the Discussion Board Assignment:
Each week, you must post at least one original reflection on that week’s topic, and respond to at least two other posts. Your own original post could be in the form of a question you have for the rest of your group on something you didn’t understand or need clarification about, or it could be a reflection on something you learned or discovered as a result of the weekly topic.
Grading:
Far below course requirements for class participation, online posts, and replies, severely impeding the opportunity to successfully reflect and assess engagement with class discussions (0-3.0).
Meets the minimum requirements for class participation, online posts, and replies, allowing some insight into course learning in reflection, and thoughtful assessment. May lack concrete details, insight, or originality in reflection and assessment (3.0-6.0).
Meets the minimum requirements class participation, online posts, and replies, or slightly above. Demonstrates strong insight into learning through reflection and thoughtful assessment, and includes concrete details presented with some originality and thoughtfulness (6.0-8.0).
Exceeds the minimum requirements: Assumes a leadership role in stimulating conversation in discussion in class and online, leading to class contributions and a number of posts and replies that are clearly in excess of the minimum requirements. Is able to demonstrate sophisticated understanding, alongside originality and thoughtfulness in reflection and assessment (8.0-10.0).
