Do you agree with Engelhardt’s take on the precautionary principle? Ultimately he is arguing that when assessing the pros and cons of a new technology we must also take into consideration the pros and cons of not pursuing the technology. Keep in mind that he seems to be preemptively concluding that this means we always should side on “progress”, even to the point of financial favoritism. Can we really know what the consequences of a technology will or will not be?
