1. What do you think about Riley’s ideas on epistemology? In general, epistemology is the study of knowledge, but here we mean it in the context of the creation and dissemination of knowledge in a particular area of inquiry: culturally induced values and beliefs. She argues that part of the reason that engineering ethics lacks a concern or an inclusion of feminist ideas is because of this epistemological issue and how the powers that be, the existing infrastructure and culture control the dialogue by controlling how we can talk about certain issues. Do you agree with her?
