Think of a time when someone in business told you NO. Maybe you were denied a refund, told your item was sold out, that you had the wrong coupon, that you were being laid off, given a lousy work assignment instead of the day off  you requested, etc.

Tell us the story. Make us feel your pain. Most importantly, tell us at least ONE of the five elements that the person DID POORLY for positive emphasis. Refer specifically to the elements, such as “First of all, she told me I couldn’t have Homecoming Saturday off, using plenty of negative words like can’t and no. Second, she focused on that, what I couldn’t have, instead of giving me any alternatives, like people I could have called to switch shifts with.”

Here’s the real kicker: Tell us how you would FIX WHAT THEY DID to improve positive emphasis. Again, use the terminology from the text. For example: “She could have omitted the negative and just given me a coupon for a different brand of mustard.”

A full credit post will contain AT LEAST FOUR complete sentences, will refer to the elements of positive emphasis specifically, and will use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.
