Week 13 Process Paper Assignment: Research Outline
What: Prepare an outline to demonstrate the stages of your argument.
Why: Although we are not writing a full research paper in this course, this assignment will help you realize the logical flow of your argument. Relying on your synthesis matrix to gather ideas from your various sources, the outline should be a walkthrough of your ideas, how the evidence connects to them, and the conclusions you’ve drawn. This assignment will provide the opportunity for you to organize your ideas, get feedback on where your research is headed, how effectively you are providing context for your reader, and how well your evidence connects to your argument.
How: Organize your argument into an outline. You may want to use your synthesis matrix, free writings, and research plan assignments to determine the top level facets of your argument, then fill out the details for each.
