Energy Engineering: Design and Analyze a Component as part of a Combined Cycle

The professor did not (he refused) provide guidelines to this project. A document has been attached including the notes of his explanation for the project but the explanation and notes are poor not very informative.

It MUST include a diagram and be around 2-3 pages (not including diagram).

First step is to choose a cycle: Rankine or Brayden

Second select a component of focus: Gas Turbine, Burner, Compressor, etc

Third design the component (such as the input variables and the resulting outputs) and explain the component in relation to its connection to a Combined cycle. This would be in depth only relevant to the component but how it correlates to the cycle and the operation of the cycle as a whole is necessary.

A diagram must be created displaying the entire cycle, aka from Boiler to turbine to….to Power output and distribution (although distribution factor does not need to be displayed)

This all will be in a report style paper but as strict guidelines were not given, format is not heavily weighted. 12 font, Times New Roman, Single Spaced
