ELM 200 GCU Project Based Learning Research

Project-based learning (PBL) is one type of instruction that increases student engagement and learning. It allows for choice, authentic collaboration and assessment, as well as real-world experience.

Research a project-based unit for elementary students you would be interested in using in your future classroom. Create a 3-5 minute video that introduces the project-based unit to other teachers who will be using the same unit. In your video complete the following:

  1. Introduce your project-based unit (grade level and subject area).
  2. Explain why the PBL unit is engaging for students and how it will be used to increase cognition.
  3. Describe how the PBL unit is challenging students. Include the levels of Bloom’s taxonomy that are incorporated.
  4. Justify the learning students will have when the unit is complete.
