Project-based learning (PBL) is one type of instruction that increases student engagement and learning. It allows for choice, authentic collaboration and assessment, as well as real-world experience.
Research a project-based unit for elementary students you would be interested in using in your future classroom. Create a 3-5 minute video that introduces the project-based unit to other teachers who will be using the same unit. In your video complete the following:
- Introduce your project-based unit (grade level and subject area).
- Explain why the PBL unit is engaging for students and how it will be used to increase cognition.
- Describe how the PBL unit is challenging students. Include the levels of Bloom’s taxonomy that are incorporated.
- Justify the learning students will have when the unit is complete.
