Elements of Design

Go the online website of Free People, find example for EACH of the following visual design strategies:

  • Color: Find a display or window that REALLY uses color to grab the shopper’s attention!
  • Texture: Remember, this can be texture that you can feel, or simply “Visual texture”
  • Proportion: How does the parts-to-whole relationship work?
  • Direction and Line: Does the display guide your eye up/down or right-to-left using line?
  • Shape: Does the display or window make use of unusual or distinct shapes?
  • Size: Is there a play on various sizes, using groupings or individual elements?
  • Sequence: Think repetition and patterns!
  • Tension: unequal balance in a display often creates “Tension” for the viewer

Each strategy needs to have one screenshot displayed with text.

Each strategy should have about 40-50 words. There is an example in the attachment.

If you have other brands, you can write about that, it doesn’t have to be Free People.
