EGSC Conflict Perspective on Deviance Paper

You will choose ONE of THREE specific paradigms (structural functionalism, social conflict theory or symbolic interactionism) from the modern sociological theories mentioned in the text to analyze crime. The keep in mind that each paradigm  has a different assumption about the nature and cause of deviance and therefore, crime. The challenge for you, the student, is to identify what those different assumptions are and accurately apply them to the functionalist, conflict, or interactionist explanation of the crime you pick.

OR

Analysis of a Deviant act from a conflict perspective.

OR

Analysis of a Deviant act from a interactionist perspective.

Each response should be about a minimum of 60 words each. You only need to pick ONE paradigm to analyze the deviance.

I am not asking for an opinion piece as to WHY you think should be deviant or comment about something you find objectionable.

You need to conduct an analysis of a criminal deviant act. An example would be theft, or vandalism etc.
