Read Chapter 5 of your textbook, “English-Language Literacy Development, Lesson Planning, and Specially-Designed Content Instruction in English.” Read this chapter carefully in order to really understand how to create learning objectives, which is often the hardest part of lesson planning. In this forum, you will be creating measureable and relevant learning objectives.
First, choose a content standard listed on Table 5.2 or, more preferably, use a Common Core State Standard, which can be found on the “Common Core State Standards Initiative.”
Second, create a content objective, language-development objective, and learning-strategy objective that support your chosen content standard (see page 153 for examples).
Third, write a short paragraph describing how you would use the objectives to identify appropriate instructional and assessment strategies.
